Adding Image Transitions

Quickshow uses a "transition in' and a "transition out" design. This is sometimes referred to as a 'right hand transition' or 'left-hand transition'.

A right hand transition means that at the end of an image's time it will transition and display the next image.

  • To accomplish this, the next image must start before the transition out of the previous image. To set up a right hand transition, also known as an out transition, slip each 'next picture' underneath the preceding picture by about two seconds. If you consider each image like a card, this would be like slipping the next card underneath the previous card.
  • Select the image by single left clicking on it. Its boundaries will turn orange in color.
  • Right click and select element properties. In the element properties pop up on the right hand side (out transition) choose the transition tight and from the preset box select the preset type.
  • Push the OK button. Repeat this for all images that need a transition.

Note: You may also double-click on an image to bring up the transition dialog box.

Alternately you may choose to have the images transition to the background before transitioning into the next image. This is known as a 'background transition.'

  • Follow the same steps as above except instead of overlapping the images leave a little space in between images, about a half of a second.
  • You will then need to apply both an "In" and "Out" transition effect. This way the image will transition in from the show's background and transition back into the background.
  • Repeat this for all images that need a transition.

Note: This transitional style can be used to create a dramatic effect at the start of a show.

Tips Corner
  • Double Clicking on an Image or Text Effect will bring up their respective properties options.
