Prior approval - PA
Before a Quickshow is viewed, used in your field sales organization or by your call center, the PA process is for it to go to a through brand positioning, making sure the message is acceptable, that the lawyers have seen it and approved and have signed off on the message.

Post approval - PPA
After a message is released, PPA allows something to change, that the message is no longer current, and the Quickshow message can be updated. Unlike any other media a single image or part of the audio can be changed, a new Quickshow created, and the new show replace the PA message.

What is rich media?
Rich Media is an email message that has images and color. The text has color and scale, size and format, and the delivery has a background image or color.  Rich media emails look like they were created at great time and cost. They are typically created for high-value corporate mailing where there is an existing relationship a business wants to continue.

What is a personal web page?
A single purpose, non distracting, web page.  It has a Quickshow embedded, and the user's name, phone number, email, perhaps a head and shoulders picture or company logo.  It does not have the distractions of text blocks, or look like a general-purpose business web page. 

Do I have to build my own shows?
Building shows is fun and rewarding but if your not comfortable, or don't have the time, we can build shows for you.  You can also have a friend or business associate build shows for you. 

At what cost?
Our prices vary with complexity, but typically cost one tenth to one quarter of an advertising company, and are delivered in one week.  You should receive a similar price from your friend or associate

What is a template?
A template is an email and web page completion environment.  It is designed by a web developer or by Quickshow staff to ask questions, and create email and Quickshow web pages.  The questions ask you to input your email message, the show you want to play, color for the surrounding page, buttons to link to other shows or web pages.

What is a Quickshow, from a technology point-of-view?
Quickshow is a shockwave flash file, placed in a control wrapper and special web page.

Why can't I just buy the software and use it?
This is called "boxed software" and is common with office productivity software.  You could use your favorite programs to accomplish the same thing as Quickshow.  But you would have to know how to run several programs and still have to rent a strong web page--- with the bandwidth and processor strength to stream shows.

What does a Quickshow do?
It plays inside a personalized web page.  The show starts playing immediately, engages visual and sound media, to extend information to the viewer.

Can QUICKSHOW track activity?
Yes.  Every Creator account can track email received and show play activity.

What kind of product is QUICKSHOW?
Quickshow is a SaaS product.  Software as a Service.  The software runs on a PC or MAC, and is tightly coupled with a complimentary set of server side applications. 

Why not free?
We do not include sponsor ads because the message delivery needs to be non-distracting.  Our purpose is high-level business to business communication.  Paid advertising distracts from the message.

How do I build a show?
Show building is very straightforward.  The process is really simple:
Arrange your images to match the timing of your audio message. 

What does do-it-yourself mean?
That the process is step-by-step.  Building a Quickshow is easy enough that a typical person can start and complete the process, and create a show that looks like it was created by a media professional.

What image editor do I have to use?
You can use your existing image editor.  Many people use PhotoShop.  I prefer a less expensive product that does the same thing, PhotoImpact.  Any image editor software that can crop and edit, perhaps add text, is acceptable.

How do I record audio?
Audio recording requires a headset microphone and audio recording / editing software.  I purchased my microphone at Frys or Best Buy for $20.  The tools are a script, headset microphone, Audacity software, and a quiet area to record. 

What is the STEPS-TO-DO-LIST?
Building a Quickshow is a slightly disciplined process.  i.e. you cannot start the program and create a show if you don't have audio materials, or images and don't know what your message or script will be.  The STEPS list places these things inside a process.

Why is the STEPS-TO-DO-LIST so important?
Because it starts with a business need, allows you to develop your story message, add materials to complete the story, and quickly assemble your Quickshow.  The STEPS list greatly reduces confusion and time to completion.

What if I don't want to build a show?
We will gladly build your first show for you during user training.  After that, professional show building is available from Quickshow and our reseller network.

What else do I need to do?
After sending your Quickshow message You WILL need to follow up on your sales leads. 

What about including image editing in QUICKSHOW?
There are many low priced, high feature, image editing packages.  Many people already have a favorite program that they already know how to use.
It's better to use software you already know.

What about image input restrictions?
The images you drop into the Quickshow local drop panel should be the same format size as the output show.  We accept jpeg, gif and png format images.

Can I change the length of my audio recording, in QUICKSHOW?
Cut or add additional audio using your audio editing software.  A wav file or mp3 file has a fixed playing duration.  Change your audio duration, save a new file and drop it into your show.

How long does it take to build a show?
Actual show building time should be less than 30 minutes.

How long does it take to build a personalized web page?
It is accomplished automatically within the template process-as you type your email message and select the show to play.

What's the similarity to Power Point?
Power Point requires a personal presentation, are very large sized files, and typically last for 30 minutes to an hour.  Quickshow is a web viewing experience, are small sized, and typically last for 1 to 3 minutes.  Other than that, they are similar.

Can QUICKSHOW use PPT output?
We used to say that you can take your PPT output and save it as jpeg output, and load the images into Quickshow.  Unfortunately, PPT image quality is not very good.  We now recommend that you take your PPT master slide, drop it into your image edit software and enter your text. 

What's the difference between a Quickshow and business video?
Quickshows are created with a headset microphone, a script and image editing software.  Business video is created using video camera, video editing software, a video set, and lots more time.  Quickshows are typically 2 to 5 meg.  Business video is typically 200 to 500 meg.

What's the pricing difference between a Quickshow and business video?
Quickshow is 5% to 20% the cost of typical business video. 

Describe the Creative account?
It creates Quickshows. It also creates rich media emails and personalized web pages.

Why do I need a Creative account?
Even if we build shows for you, there has to be a location to store your images and sound files, and your Quickshows.  The creative account is where shows are built and streaming activity is monitored.

How do I download the Creative account software?
Go to any of our server web pages, click download, step 1 checks your JAVA virtual machine, step 2 downloads and starts your Quickshow client.  Step 3 is a self paced training area.

Can I use my Creative account on my home computer?
Yes.  Download and use it on your office computer.  Download and use it at home.  Regardless of computer or location your assets are always available.

Can I let a co-worker use my Creative account?
Yes. 

What are the minimum configuration of a PC?
A business class XP or VISA PC, with 2 monitors, and high speed Internet access.  A MAC with 2 monitors. Monitors are the window into any software application.  You can build shows with a single monitor but will be more comfortable working with a high resolution display, or two regular monitors.

What is JAVA?
JAVA is a secure virtual machine (VM) environment.  JAVA allows applications and process to run on your computer without risk of virus or bad program behavior.  The Quickshow application runs inside the JAVA VM.

Why do I have to download JAVA if I just want to run the Presenter account?
You don't.  The Presenter account runs as a simple IE or Firefox internet application.  The Presenter account sends emails to your existing email program.

Does QUICKSHOW run on a MAC?
YES.  The application is developed on a MAC, so it runs very nicely there.

Do you have a thin-client version of the Creative account?
YES.  Contact Quickshow for details.

Can I download and run a filename.exe version of the Creative account?
YES.  Contact Quickshow for file location details.

What is a Presenter account?
It is the sales person's account.  The Presenter uses Quickshows created by a Creative account and automatically completes the merge and personal web
page process.

The Presenter account emails this information to the sales
person.

Do I need to have a Creative and Presenter account?  Isn't that a duplication. You can do everything in a Creative account and may not need any Presenter accounts.  If your business has many sales persons, then the Presenter can save lots of time. 

What is the difference between QUICKSHOW and a professional web developer?
We are an automation service, for standard business processes (build a message, deliver the message).  Web developers build web pages.

What is the difference between QUICKSHOW and an advertising company?
Quickshow is a do-it-yourself advertising company.  If you have the ideas you can create your own media, and eliminate your advertising company. 

Can QUICKSHOW replace my web developer?
No.  But you will have fewer words on your web page.  Your web page will have to be updated less often.  Quickshows play inside your web page.
Replacing a show is much easier than updating a web page.

Can QUICKSHOW replace my advertising company?
Not really.  You will be contacting them less often, and have a greater utilization of their creative ideas.

Can QUICKSHOW replace printed brochures and mailing our printed materials? YES.  This is a natural use.  Your business will probably still need a few brochures, but in today's fast-paced business environment, Quickshows are a great replacement for printed materials.

Can I use QUICKSHOW to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP)?
YES.  We are a RFP response product.   1.  Use QS for a thank you message.
2. Prep message for the bid.  3. Reduce the size of the bid document. 4.

Can I use QUICKSHOW for thank you messages, after a sales call?
The post sales call courtesy Quickshow, is the best way to remind a customer of business details and separate yourself from your competition.

How much does Quickshow charge to build a professional Quickshow for me? Prices vary depending upon complexity and quantity of shows.  A typical professional show may cost from $1500 to $2500.  You keep the audio and images, and the show, and the 'stateful-save' show build information.  After a few professional shows you will be editing and re-purposing your inventory without calling us.

Who are your competitors?
There are no direct competitors.  Web developers mostly have the tools to create something like a Quickshow.  Advertising companies create the message and media, but rarely build Quickshow equivalents, due to their very high costs of labor and administration.

How do you train someone to use QUICKSHOW?
We use gotomeeting Internet service so you can watch as we build a show.  We can turn the training session around, download the Creative software, and configure your PC.

What are the steps to build a Quickshow?
We have a nine step process - 1. determine the message, 2. write the script, 3. record and edit the audio, 4. mark your audio timing, 5. gather and edit the show images, 6. start your Creative account and load the images and audio, 7. arrange the images, add transitions and save the show, 8. Merge the show with a template, type your email message, 9. send your email.  

What is a Presenter account?
Presenter takes shows and  creates personalized web pages.  The Presenter account does this automatically.  The account holder receives an email, sends or forwards it to their customer. The Presenter account has a no-training-required design. 

How much training is involved in building shows in a Creative account?
We try to make show building a step by step process.  The steps to build a a message, write a script, record and edit the audio message, mix in background music, select and format digital images are learned quickly.  The mechanical process of arranging the image timeline is simple.  Most people build simple shows very quickly.  15 minutes is typical.

How much time does a Presenter account take out of my sales reps.
day?
It takes three minutes or less to learn how to use the message and Play Show button.
During a normal work day, it takes less time to respond with pre-formatted messages and a Quickshow than standard email. 

What are the best use for the Presenter account?
A fast and rich-looking sales opportunity response! More business is won by the person who is most responsive to the opportunity. 

Why is there a Producer (creative) account and a Presenter account?
Shows are built in the Producer account. And, they are merged into a variety of templates in the Producer account. The Presenter account becomes very useful if there's a larger group of sales people, etc. and the automatic creating of many personal web pages would take too much time. And, the Presenter account automatically keeps everyone informed about new shows.

Does Quickshow have a reseller channel?

What if I don't want to leave my web shop, can they use my Quickshow account? Yes.  Provide them with your account id and password.  They can build, edit and complete work for you, in your Quickshow account.

What is Audacity?
Audacity is an open source audio recording, editing, and changing program.
We prefer Audacity because it is FREE, easily downloadable, full featured, easy to learn and works on MAC and PC. 

How can I record my own audio message?
There are several web pages about using Audacity. During initial training we will use Audacity to record (watch and learn by doing) and the user guide has a step by step guide to recording, editing, and adding background music.

Can I use Quickshow for mass mailing?
Yes.  We are fully compliant with CRM programs. 

Can I save a Quickshow on my PC?
Inside the Quickshow client, right click to download your Quickshow or email message file from the Quickshow server to your PC  You can then load the file directly into your CRM / mass mailing software, or send the email message via your company email server.

How can i send email using my company's email program? 
Not a difficult thing to do-- about 3 click and a file name. Build and preview a email file inside quickshow. At the bottom of the template select the Save Local; button, type a filename and the html emial file will be copied to your PC. Then, use your own email CRM program to send the file. OR use the Quickshow client to send the email file, via your local mail server, to your customer.

What about using different looks and feels of Play Show buttons? 
Excellent!  We provide a standard looking Play Show button.  New buttons, and unique play show buttons for each show, are VERY easy to create using almost any image editing software. Linking your unique play show button to a Quickshow takes about 5 seconds.

Does / Can Quickshow contain spyware?
No.  A Quickshow is a shockwave flash video (SWF) and cannot contain any form of spyware.  IF a person could insert malicious code into a swf file, the player would simply ignore the virus.  Both  JAVA and  SWF run in a virtual machine protected environment. 

Does Quickshow use web cookies?
A Quickshow web page can contain a tracking cookie.  Most web pages contain a cookie or two.  Most computers allow cookies.  We use tracking cookies to create detailed show play reports.  Our server knows when your show is being played, without a cookie.  The cookie provides for show status, restart, and training progress information.  Cookie or not, same great show play performance. 

Can I build my own template?
A moderately skilled web developer should have no problem building a template.  We can explain the steps.  If you need a special look we can do that for you, we can also customize an existing web page or email to work as a template.

What do templates look like?
Completed templates look like rich media email, and very personalized web pages. Both can provide the person's contact information, plus a few buttons linking to web pages and a few butons that play additional shows. What if I don't want to use a template?
It's easy to build your own web page and include your Quickshows. The Support section provides the code. If you want to build your own shows and web pages and have us host them, that's okay, also. Build your web page, send us the file. We will load it into your account, with a database number, so your show and web page are selectable from inside the Quickshow software.

Do Quickshow messages forward through email systems?
Yes.  It is possible to break anything, including a forwarded Quickshow email, but when your customer forwards the message the second receiver will view and experience exactly the same color, images, and be able to view the show.  The exception is when the receiver uses text only email software.
They will see the message text.  They will be able to click and view the show.  But, their forwarded message will remain text only.

How can I use Quickshow to break through email spam filters?
This is a tough question to answer because every email sender and email receiver involves many variables.  The answer is to establish a trust relationship.  Call and talk.  Send a sample email.  This process is fundamental to establishing any business relationship.
That being said, we know of no product that will break through spam filters.
